Hey guys!! So I can finally reveal a project I slaved over for a long time, be it in the length concept stage, or the seemingly rushed execution stage. My new poster for the fine folks at Blurppy.com and the Poster Posse ‘X-Men: Days of Future Past’ has been revealed, and boy what a doozy this project was.  When we received the outline of this project, initially I was excited because I love X-Men! I mean, who doesn’t, but as I watched the trailer and began to read up on the movie I freaked out. The size of the cast and the scope of the movie had me stumped! I didn’t know how to approach it, go for more of an obvious, flooded with cast members route or go more minimal, more conceptual. It took me literally weeks of avoiding and distraction to finally come up with the idea that you see above. Whilst Wolverine has been the centrepiece of the X-Men franchise, he in this movie is also the only character to be in the two time era’s so I thought he should be the character to focus on. I decided to go with the more conceptual route as I believe it challenges me to think a bit differently, which in turn brings around a different and more interesting result. Yet thinking differently requires a lot more time and so I was rushed to the deadline with this one. I tried to symbolise time and the two era’s by a subtle ‘hourglass’ motif. There are a couple of clues hidden in there for you to have a look at! Using 2 of the settings featured in the trailers this is the design it ended up being and I do hope you enjoy it! The next Poster Posse project is going to be crazy, I can already assure you! If you want to see some more detail shots please head to my website! Cheers, Tom
